Week Nine
Homemade Pretzels & Beer Cheese
Hey Gang! Happy Sunday!
This is gonna be a quick post today – because it is GAME day and I want to be in front of the TV 🙂 This week we are having a quick and easy DELICIOUS game day snack… Pretzels n Beer Cheese… and this shit (pardon my french) is SO GOOD!!!
Here are the Roster details for this weeks Line up!
Pretzel Ingredients:
- 4 cups of water
- ¼ cup baking soda
- 2 cans of biscuits
- 2 eggs beaten
- Coarse salt
- Sesame seeds (optional)
Beer Cheese Ingredients:
- 3 tbsp AP Flour
- 3 tbsp butter
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- ¼ cup onions diced small
- 1 tsp grainy mustard
- ½ tsp mustard powder
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
- ½ tsp coarse salt
- 1 cup whipping cream
- ½ cup Lager beer (you can use ANY nonfruity beer it will just deepen the flavour the darker you go)
- 2 cups old cheddar shredded
- 1 cup mild cheddar shredded
Pretzel Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 425 and line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spray with PAM
- Cut biscuits into quarters and roll into balls – mark with an X with a knife
- Boil water add baking soda and reduce to simmer
- Drop dough balls into simmered water for 30 seconds (will float to the top)
- Place the dough balls onto the baking sheet (make sure they don’t touch)
- Mix your egg and wash the top of the dough balls
- Sprinkle with sesame seeds and Salt
- Bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes until golden brown
Beer Cheese Instructions:
- In a pot on medium-high heat cook down the garlic and onions with the butter until transparent
- Add in mustard, mustard powder, black pepper, W sauce, cayenne pepper, and salt – stir well
- Add in flour to make a rue
- Add in whipping cream stir well
- Add beer and cheeses – turn off the heat and let the cheese melt in
- Serve 😊

Week 9 – November 3
Now – we only made 1 can of pretzels because I will make the second batch for the 2:30 o’clock game and just reheat the beer cheese 🙂 …and… this beer cheese can be used (if you have any leftover) for Burgers this week, or MAC n Cheese with bacon, or on Cheeseburger nachos. 😉
