NFL 2019/2020 Season
Week Seventeen
Football Pizza Pops & Dipping Sauce
Our final recipe of Regular Season! I can’t believe we have reached the end of the regular season already! Superbowl is just around the corner and ANY of these 17 recipes will be a hit at your SuperBowl Party! especially our final recipe. Football shaped Pizza Pops!!! Who doesn’t love a good pizza pop.
Yes, you can BUY pizza pops premade, but c’mon how many times have you pooped one of those in the microwave and the middle been cold? or how about they aren’t shaped like a FOOTBALL! plus you can put anything in these and they are honestly fun to make! If you have kids – this would be a fun family dinner idea. Use any cookie cutter for shapes!
So we made traditional Pepperoni and Cheese and then for those who think Pineapple is OK on Pizza, a little Hawaiian option. But seriously, add bbq sauce chicken and onion for a little BBQ chicken or Pepperoni Green pepper and Mushroom for a Deluxe style. Put whatever you want in your pizza Pop!
Here are the Roster details for this weeks Line up!
Ingredients:
- 2 Pizza Dough cans cut into football shapes (Makes 13 shapes per can)
- 2 Pepperoni slices per football
- 1 tsp Pizza sauce
- 1 tsp Marble cheese
- Parmesan cheese sprinkled
- ¼ cup Melted butter
- Marinara sauce for dip
Ingredients for Hawaiian:
- ¼ of a slice of Honey ham
- 1 pineapple chunk cut into 4s
- 1 tsp Pizza sauce
- 1 tsp Marble cheese
- Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
- In a frying pan on high heat – cook the pepperoni so it gets a little crispy on the edges
- Preheat oven to 375 and line baking sheets with parchment paper
- Roll out the dough from the package and cut out football shapes (I used a cookie cutter)
*tip – you will need to collect the dough not used and roll out again to get a few more footballs - On half of the cutout football shapes add your sauce, and toppings (pep, cheese or Ham, pineapple) sprinkle parmesan cheese last
- Take the other half of the footballs and stretch them over the top of your ingredient side. Flip over and pinch the sides closed
- Brush the tops of your footballs with melted butter and sprinkle with parmesan cheese
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes – until golden brown
- In a saucepan heat your marinara sauce and parmesan cheese – 10 minutes or so (until hot)
- Cool for 3 minutes and Serve
Makes a baker’s dozen (13 footballs)
